Styling 101

As designers, styling is one of the most exciting parts of any renovation! This is usually the last step we take our clients through. We add flair that marries the clients personal preferences with the classic KMH look.

It can be hard to know where to start but here are a few of

our favorite things to style with….

Books

From statement table books to old timey antique books, we love to bring them to add pops of color or to set the tone.

Bread boards

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again bread boards are incredible design tools! They add such a classic look without being too flashy. Try looking on Etsy to find some fun vintage boards.

Wicker Baskets & Trays

These might be the most versatile design tool. You can use them in any room, at any size to add a polished and organized look.

Cow bells

This decor piece might seem a little random, but metal cow bells add a little flare to a bookshelf, coffee table, or entryway.

Bowls

Now that’s pretty broad, but we love to bring a variety of sizes colors and textures! Large wooden bowls, small black glass bowls, they all bring something different. Sometimes we’ll over pack and see what feels right in the space when we get there.

Fruit

This goes hand in hand with the bowls. If you follow our social media pages, you’ll know we love to add vibrant color. We usually do this by displaying apples or oranges in bowls during shoots.

Plants

We love to bring plants and flowers to style with! On occasion we have clipped branches from Kelly's backyard! Other times we take a trip to the local flower market and pick up some classic KMH choices to display in a glass vase.
