Styling with a Green Thumb

Choosing and styling greenery for your home is the finishing touch for any design project. Here are our thoughts and suggestions for styling even if "green thumb" is not how you'd describe yourself!

Once all the structural aspects have been completed, appliances installed, walls painted, and floor sanded, you need to ask yourself how am I going to breathe life into this house? Among other styling techniques, choosing the right plants can make that house feel more like a home. Their bright green leaves are a focal point for the corner of your living room, or next to a bookshelf in the study.

Our absolute favorite house plants are:

Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees, from the Ficus family

Daniella Ficus'

Olive Trees

Topiaries

Orchids

Ferns, particularly Maidenhair ferns

Something I always do with plants is give them a name. It may sound silly, but it brightens my day to greet them on my way in or out. Some people say that if you talk to your plants it will help them grow, and watching them grow over the years has been such a source of pride for me.

I hope you’ll find that too!

Love,

Kelly
